The static icons are very simple 'transparent' gif images, with a hyperlink to the ( index.htm / contact.htm / sitemap.htm ) pages. Although simple, they do provide a very important function. The icons are consistent for all pages with exception to the index page which uses an animated Zooom Menu. The static icons provide additional 'cross linking' to 3 of the most important pages in your website. The home page, the contact page, and the sitemap page. Search engines find these types of pages to be important. Cross linking all pages back to the home page, tells a search engine that the targeted page, is of higher importance than other pages as it has more internal links pointing back to it. The sitemap allows you to list all of your pages, and descriptions for those pages, and the contact page provides important information to your visitors on how they can get in touch with you.
